First entry of 2013, a bit late if I may add. So this one is going to be rather lengthy. For starters, I’m still designing custom themes for some of my websites.
One example of my latest themes is Project Pegasus; my first, mini-site. It’s a simple custom designed WordPress Theme that needs a bit of work, but it does it’s job. It’s the site where I’ll be displaying a fan created crossover novel between “The Journeyman Project” and “Star Trek.” You can visit the site here at Project Pegasus This site was released in January 2013 shortly after being finalized on New Year’s day.
Another Website launched is Soldiers at War. A casual multi-gaming clan. A WordPress Powered website. I’m in the process of trying to convince the leader to switch to paid hosting so we can truly unlock it’s potential.
Since then I’ve been trying to design Version 7 of the website. Version 7 will be a custom WordPress theme, but will be a huge undertaking to create; as it will be using modified plugins and advanced jQuery Effects. One of the main features I’m going to be using an animated(video) background on the header. I’m also going to attempt a bit of transparency on the featured slider. This slider will be a little better than what I’m running now, but will only allow for 5 slots. I’m also going to be eliminating any forums
Shortly I’m going to start finding time to resume my 3DS Max Projects. That house I started in 2011 hasn’t gotten anywhere.
Now for a bit of fun, which we all love. This year is the second running of AniMegaCon. I have purchased the VIP 3 Day Pass. This will be very good, since I quite enjoyed the last one. They are expanding their focus. It’s pretty well rounded with shops, MegaEvents, and much more. You can view their site here AniMegaCon 2013. What makes this one special, to me anyway, is that the last day will be on my birthday. Personally, I can’t come up with a better day to celebrate than by hitting the convention, and potentially hitting either Anime Ramen or Famous Dave’s after the convention.
My FL Mixes are behind, but since I have limited time, I’ll be doing some of what I think deserve it. Obviously I need to remix my favorite Descent Tracks. But I will not be mixing all 30+ of them. Probably the Descent 1 and 2 Menus, Briefings and credits, 2 tracks from Descent 2 and about 10 from the first game. Looking back I’ve come very far. Played an old remix in front of a friend with an ear for sound and she loved it.
I am proud to say that last year I was able to achieve a few goals with this site. One was the elimination of Flash Elements on this site, with the exception of YouTube Embeds. Morph the site into a multi-site network. Though it is small It’s considerably easier for me to keep my friends’ sites updated with the press of a button. I’ve come very far since starting WordPress in 2011. And I’m proud to say that if you ask me, It is my CMS of choice.
